A group of scientists found a formula to help those who are dieting to not always feel hungry. Research led by Alison Grosby, concluded that people who often feel hungry lack of protein in their diet. Intake of high protein such as meat, fish, eggs and nuts can control your weight. They are also easier to overcome the habit of snacking.
Researchers from the University of Cambridge and the University of Sydney studied 22 volunteers who had normal weight. They offer food products that look the same, but has a different protein levels. In particular, the volunteers were given muffins for breakfast, grilled tuna with salad for lunch, and pasta or spaghetti with cover meals for dinner.
At the end of the study, researchers concluded that people with 10 percent protein diet ate 260 calories more than those who ate 15 percent protein in the daily menu. So, people who lack the protein are not just eating more, they also acquire an additional 70 percent of calories through snacking.
However, according to the study, increasing protein intake to 25 percent a day does not help overcome overeating. At the same time, researchers confirmed that people who consume enough protein when you eat too much will not feel hungry two hours after eating.
